The vision of the Rock Art Network is that:
Rock art is valued and cared for globally.
The mission for the Rock Art Network is:
People with diverse knowledge and skills working to care for rock art places everywhere so they will be passed on to future generations.
The Rock Art Network promotes four pillars that cover the different aspects of caring for rock art:

Awareness of values:
Recognition and celebration of the values of rock art sites locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Effective management:
Management which documents, monitors and protects rock art sites in their cultural and environmental settings.

Physical & cultural conservation:
Conservation of rock art sites according to accepted conservation principles and in ways that support cultural practices.

Community benefit:
Collaboration of custodians, communities, governments, researchers, and heritage professionals to create economic and social benefits and sustainable management practices.
