What We Do

Network members collaborate on a variety of projects sharing knowledge between and with Indigenous communities, encouraging public awareness and promoting professional practice and development. The focus areas of RAN and its members are detailed in the diagram below:

How we work

The Rock Art Network uses simple mechanisms to address these focus areas and enable implementation of a practical program of action:

Individual actions supporting the strategic objectives and focus areas of the Rock Art Network.

Direct collaborations between Network members, partners and sites.

Working groups and small group collaboration on identified projects, outcomes or tasks.

Site-based workshops, forums and training at which Network members gather to further work on activities and address selected topics. Site-based meetings may include training or workshops to further develop aspects of professional practice. and review future priorities and actions.

Monitoring and review of implementation of the Network’s goals, strategic priorities and actions.

Achievements to date include curation and hosting of public exhibitions, organization of online education courses, coordination of social media efforts to reach expanded audiences, publication of practical guides, and building a community of practice through professional networking.
